I have a 1995 Tacoma with 100,000 miles, I've only had it for about 8000 miles. It started out running great then all of a sudden it died and needed a fuel pump. After that it was fine for a while then died again, leading to the discovery of a broken wire. It appears from the number of splices in this wire the truck is now on fuel pump number four. It is running horribly. We have the idle turned up to prevent stalling. When idling if I put it in neutral it is okay unless I turn on the AC, then it coughs and sputters and stalls. If I leave it in drive while at a light it surges and coughs and sputters and stalls. Sometimes it almost feels like one of those bucking broncos you used to put a quarter in to ride. I put in a can of carbuerator cleaner and it ran okay during the entire tank of gas but as soon as I refilled the tank...same problem.
    Any ideas?
