    I have a toyota tacoma pre-runner.

when i put the key into the ignition and turn it the truck does not turn over.

For a few months the key has started to act up when i start. sometimes the key can be removed from the ignition without the truck stopping, if i pull it out without turning it counter clockwise.

last night when i tried to start up the truck the key would not turn all the way clockwise, as such the truck would not turn over. the lights will come on so i doubt it is the battery. also usually when it is the battery the truck will turn over but only make clicking sounds. i am thinking i can just replace the switch that my key goes into.

    any thoughts?

Sounds like the switch is messed up.

It sounds like a mechanical problem, not so much a key problem.
If a screwdriver would work, so would the key.
