So yeah I got a little bit of an ant problem inside the Cab

So yeah idk where these ants came from but every time i open the door they scatter and i find some of them in the back on the floor i think they have taken over the truck cause i cant find the source lol they come out of every crack and hole inside even out of the console

 

Buy one of those bug canisters and thats meant to fume a room and put it in the cab.

 

I thought about it but i dont want to kill myself with the poison smell

 

dont do it while your in there


people dont die when they use them in their house do they?

 

After its been in there for how long the package says its supposed to be just air the truck out overnight doors open, should be fine..

Like i keep the truck in Prestige Condition like the interior is clean but they look like small spiders and my friend did the bug bomb to his truck and the smell never went away it almost like it burned into the interior

 

Any friends have an anteater you can borrow?

 

strip it down. pull the seats, pull the carpet, take the dash apart as much as you can. try and find the source of the little fuckers. place a few of the little Raid ant catchers in there and under the hood.

 

I would suggest against bombing...use the ant traps and keep it up until none are left. If you don't have anything for them to eat in there the traps should be effective.

 

Spray ortho home defense max all around on the interior. It doesn't have a scent and safe to breath in.

Whatever you do to get rid of them, make sure you clean the truck really really well otherwise they'll be back. If you park in the same spot every night, spray the whole spot with Ortho (the stuff you'd use on a house foundation wall). That should stop any more from tracking in and out but won't kill the ones already living in the truck.

Actually, if you just clean the truck well, they'll go away. They won't stick around if there's no food.

 

I'd try an ant bait or two first, then the trap(s), then move on to a spray before I'd use a bug-bomb.

 

Well there slowly are dissapearing or hiding somewhere and reproducing but i think the heat is getting to them

 

That's why I'd try the bait first, since they take that back to whatever nest they have and it takes the breeding-bitch out. If they disappear before you bait 'em they may well come back.

 

Here's some general advice on ant poisons:

1. Be very careful w/ ant baits if you have dogs. The attractant is usually peanut butter. I don't know about you, but my dog can find peanut butter like nobody's business.
2. If your dog does eat an ant bait, don't panic, there's usually not enough toxin to cause any serious harm in a normal sized dogs. Call your vet or the National Animal Poison Center (888-426-4435)
3. As a general rule, try to get insecticides that are pyrethrins or pyrethroids. These are very deadly to bugs but have almost no reaction in humans. This is as opposed to things like organophosphates (chemical warfare agents) and neonicotinics (probably responsible for the mass die off of honey bees and also potentially damaging to mammals).
4. Foggers work great, but keep in mind they are designed to be used in areas WAY larger than the cab of your truck. I'd leave the windows cracked while it's in use and ventilate the hell out of the truck before getting back in there. Again, choose a fogger that is a pyrethroid or pyrethrin, worst case scenario w/ those is a little respiratory irritation or an allergic reaction. Ventilate the cab well before getting back in!
