Do you lube the rubber parts underneth your truck? I'm talking mainly the cv boots, muffler hanger, etc. If so what's a good product to use that protects and won't attract dirt. I'm thinking maybe a silicone or fluid film? What's your thoughts...lube it or leave it alone?

not sure - don't think that's commonly done being undercarriage stuff, ...but i'd think you could cover w/ dielectic silicone grease - it helps prevent deterioration of rubber, ..but may attract some dirt if put on too thick...

Don't do it myself, but a search on Google for rubber treatment turns up a couple of promising options:

Meguiars #40 Vinyl & Rubber Conditioner
    BMW Gummi-Pflege

Meguiars tend to make good stuff.

Silicone is supposed to protect rubber, but it will attract dust which might cake on over time and cause more damage than good, so you will have to clean it more often. Silicone is apparently good to wipe your wiperblades with from time to time to keep them soft.

Only articulating parts with friction (mostly bushings) need lube, and most of them are slowly being replaced with urethane that's designed to be serviceable on my truck as time goes by...

I've heard of people putting aerospace 303 on their CVs. I sprayed one of mine with dry moly to see what would happen. Still have no answer.
