I am thinking there may be something wrong with the alarm brain. Most devices like this will have small relays soldered to the circuit board inside. I'm an appliance repair guy, and I see these types of relays stick on all the time. I'm not 100% certain, but I think that if you remove the brain from all wiring connections and check for continuity from the main ground terminal to the lock/unlock wire you should see that there is no connection. I suspect that on yours there may be a relay stuck on and there will be continuity from the unlock (-) wire to ground. Since you're tapping into the truck's factory body control module, the truck sees a ground on the unlock wire and unlocks the doors. Since the ground never goes away, the remote won't do anything, the truck's system is looking for a pulse.

With all of this hooked up, if you take your key and turn it in the door locks, will the power locks respond? Since that's the circuit you're tapping into, if I am right, that feature should be on the fritz also. Unhook the alarm and I'd expect it to go back to normal.

The factory keyless is a different set of inputs into the body module, so that may be why it still works right.

If you feel like you can get the brain's cover off without hurting anything, you might try tapping on each relay with a screwdriver handle. Most times that will unstick a relay that has it's contacts stuck on.

I have been racking my brain with this lock/unlock situation. I hooked everything up, put the key in the door lock and it will unlock everything.

Ill check to see if I can take the brain cover off.

I wouldn'd do that. There's nothing in there you can fix.

How did you connect up to the violet and green/black, solder or taps. Sometimes those t-taps don't make good contact. Did you test the lock/unlock output? Disconnect them from the truck and hook up to a meter. Look for a pulse ground when you push the remote.

I connected everything with solder and tested everything. I think I have a faulty brain.

Like I said earlier, test the Viper's outputs. Connect a test lead from the Viper's lock or unlock wire to a DVOM in resistance mode. Connect the other test lead to ground. It should read open (infinite resistance) and pulse to zero ohms when you push the lock or unlock button.

Just an fyi... by connecting to the violet and green/black you really aren't directly accessing the lock circuits. You are providing inputs to the control computer that the operates the locks. You can directly access the lock circuits via the blue and gray wires. But you really shouldn't need to.

This would be my next step.

I tried connecting the wires to the blue/white and gray wire and it still didn't do anything. I'll test them with a DVOM and see what happens.

I appreciate everyones help on this!!

I have the alarm hooked up and everything is working correctly (siren, chirps and remote start) except the damn unlock/lock. I have tried the following with no success and this is my third brain.

Blue (Alarm Lock Wire) to Green/Black (Vehicle Lock Wire)

Blue (Alarm Lock Wire) to Gray (Vehicle Lock Wire)

Green (Alarm Unlock Wire) to Purple (Vehicle Unlock Wire)

Green (Alarm Unlock Wire) to Blue/White (Vehicle Unlock Wire)

    Please help!

No offense, but this is why people should not attempt installing alarms on their own, especially remote start systems. These trucks are very very complicated and installs like this NEVER work on the first try. Your alarm is fine. Something is not connected correctly.

Like I said in my post above. Everything is working except the lock/unlock feature. The install was actually easy to do. I just can't figure out why the locks dont work.

Sorry I realize I was of no help to you. I didn't read through the entire post so I don't know what you have and haven't tried yet. I'll read through it in a little bit and see what I can think of for you.

    This is whats happening:

When I connect the alarm blue wire to the vehicle purple wire it unlocks. When I connect the alarm blue wire to the green/black wire it locks.

Nothing happens when I connect the alarm green wire to either of the vehicle wires.

When I use a test light on the vehicle purple wire and turn the key to unlock the door, it lights up. Same thing with the green/black. Turn to lock the door and the test light, lights up.

Your truck requires a double pulse from the alarm to trigger the locks. Reprogram the alarm. Menu 1, item 6, option 4. See page 63 of your manual. Try this first. And use the green/black and violet, not the other wires you mentioned

I'll try that, but I thought it only requires a double pulse for the second unlock?
