Key comes out of ignition when turned on -- 2nd gen

My key has been falling out of the ignition while driving lately. I guess the bits that lock the key into the keyhole are not functioning. I don't know much about keys/ignition assemblies, but is this a simple fix? Such as some kind of lube or something? Or would I need to have the whole shebang replaced?

 

Do you have more than one key? Try a different key first. I had one older Toyota that did that, but only with the wore out key that I used every day. The spare was fine. I've seen it on an old Chevelle too.

 

I had a truck that did that ... I love that feature in the winter for warming up the truck and locking the doors.
