I was changing plugs and noticed my TRD filter had a bunch of loose crap in it. I banged it on the ground to get most of it out. is it ok to rinse it off with the hose if i dont have the cleaning/oiling kit? if i dont use the emulsifier to get the original oil out, will water screw it up?

a little annoyed that i had it in the dealer for a good lookover at the 30k service, and they said the filter was fine, and they didnt even bother to blow it off. i'm doing the plugs and diff/TC oil change myself. the driver side, closest to the firewall plug was a pain to access, but otherwise a really easy job. the oil replacement should be even easier.

I would not use water unless I was cleaning it. I would either/both; use a vacuum to clean the outside, or; use a shop vac or low volumn air to blow the filter out from the inside out (reverse air flow from normal)
