Frame rust

    Deaver 6 stack Leaf Springs 3/4 ton Bilstean adjustible shocks 3.0 Liter turbo diesel from Toyota Hilux in japan
    09 taco found surface rust on frame at welds and several other areas I put navel jelly on rust and will prep paint with zinc paint anyone else finding rust issues on taco frames

    You should attempt to clean rust and begin a regiment of annual tar and mid-winter oil bath. All things made of steel will eventually rust, no exception.

    Just looked at my neighbors 2006 Ford F-150 crew cab pick up frame, it has light rust on all the welded areas, control arms etc and some spots in various areas of the frame, about the same as my 09 taco frame, I assume this is normal on all truck frames... Hard to believe the frames are not treated with corrosion protection at the assembly line...

    i'm getting ready to grind my frame down on my 05 and rust protect it. my dad had a 05 that the frame rusted right through and toyota told him he was SOL

    toyotas in general have had problems with there frames rusting more than other car manufactures. My year truck has had a recall on frames due to rust and i think second gen has had a recall i dont know which year though

    not to reactivate a stale thread but just as an update, i did have my frame undercoated in 2012 but that only slowed things down as the damage was already done. i had the frame replaced under the frame recall in February but they wouldn't refund my money that i spent on the undercoating.
