My new 2012 Tacoma is great, but there is a "low, high chime" that chimes three times when braking under medium pressure. It only happens occasionally, and no dash lights appear. I've called the dealer and they are stumped. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have a clue what the chime means? Thanks for any advice!

Are you making a turn when this happens? What speeds?

The only "chiming" i can think of would be the VSC kicking in but that is a beeping and the light kicks on when it does and thats usually when you break the rear end free in the snow or something. Maybe something with your ABS since it happens while braking?

I figured it out. We had installed the "Snapshot" attachment from Progressive Insurance to the truck. It plugged into the OBDII port under the dash. It monitors your driving habits and uploads info to the insurance company, resulting in a discount to your premium. (We received a 30% reduction for two vehicles.) The Snapshop attachment will chime when aggressive braking is noticed, reminding the driver to drive safely. Problem solved!

By the way, I LOVE my Tacoma!
