Hello; I'm new to this forum. I drive a 2002 Tacoma Ext Cab. I noticed that two of my instrument panel lights (the ones behind the Tachometer and Engine Temp) have gone out. Could this be a lightbulb problem or a fuse problem? Do I need to replace the bulbs or look at the fuses? If it's the fuses, which one might be the culprit. Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Ben Hyman

It's the bulbs. All your dash illumination would have disappeared if the relevant fuse had blown ...

No need to yell there Chris. lol.

The black "knobs" to which you are referring to are the actual bulb sockets. Sometimes they do tend to be a bit sticky, but you should be able to twist them loose with one hand.

Word of warning: BEFORE you install your dash and cluster with your new LED bulbs installed, connect the electrical connection and turn on your park lights to be sure they all light up. LEDs are polarity specific, so you can sometimes install them backwards and they will not light. If any bulbs do not light up, simply pull the black socket out and turn it 180 deg and reinstall.

All of that is hardwired in Chris. Perhaps you could take a picture and show exactly what you are meaning?
