2004 4x4 Advice on rear brake job

    Appreciate any advice on rear drum brake job on
    2004 Tacoma TRD 4x4 V-6 Automatic 85k miles

    Need Rear Brakes
    It was recomended to replace cylinders by mechanic

    Also emergency brake mechanisim is frozen.

    Any recomendations of brand of brake shoes and cylinders ?
    Stay with original Toyota or NAPA or CarQuest ??

    Wanted to stay away from China parts.

    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    I don't replace cylinders unless they warrant it. I am a fan of Wagner when it comes to brake components. Thermo Quiets specifically for pads and shoes. Wagner also makes cylinders.

    As far as the e-brake mechanism being frozen, you can take it apart and clean it up or just get new.

    Replace the cylinders if they are leaking if not font bother. Stick with oem Toyota parts and everything will be fine
