    Hi all,

I think I found someone to trade my seats with! The only problem is that he drives an '06 with no side air bags. I know mine would bolt up fine in his but what can be done to bypass the system/airbag light on mine. My service guy said he would clear the code but it would still come back on.

    Any suggestions?

Why are you swapping seats in the first place? Especially if the 2012 seats are safer with the airbags?

I am trading my pickup in and trying to recoup some of the cost of the leather. Yes the others are safer but it won't be mine in a couple of days and since the stealership isn't giving me any additional money for leather I'm trading.

Thanks for trying to answer the question though ;)

... ^^^ ... On my last trade ... the dealer came back to me and asked for the rear headrests and extra keys after the the truck was traded in.

I would be concerned if something ever happened (injury to anyone) and the possibilities that the parties (dealer & next buyer) could come back on you.

The dealership are actually the ones who mentioned that I can sell all of the aftermarket items, including the seats. Their offer was based on a base Tacoma.

My question is "is this possible to swap them and maintain airbag function for everything else"? I am not looking for a lawsuit or to mess anyone over and it's not worth the little bit of money that I can receive. But is this possible?
