Short Throw 6spd shifter

Has anyone had any experience with the new TRD short throw shifter for the 6spd mannual? Or for that matter any other brand of short throw shifter available for the 6spd man. I have found the TRD shifter for $300 online and that seemed a little steep compared to other shifters I have bought in the past for other vehicles.

I've heard quite a few good things about this one and you'll save about $150. Just follow the instructions to a "T"

Will the TRD shifter void the warranty?

If the warranty is of no concern then how about the B&M? http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id...cat=15&pid=373

TRD parts are warrantied.

Any aftermarket one won't be, only if it is the part that caused a problem.

In that case and considering the problems I and many others are having with the transmissions in these trucks I wouldn't take the risk of installing a shifter other than the TRD. The dealership here tried everything in their power to not replace my transmission, an after market shifter would have given them too much ammunition.

Then just keep your stocker and swap it back when you take it in. It's not like a shortshifter is that labor intensive to install.

Well after doing some more research on the TRD and URD, I found many people having problems with the rubber piece located in the stock shifter that both of these Short Shifters utilize. It seems many people complain that this rubber piece wears out after approximately 1 year and shifts become increasingly sloppy, I even heard some people make reference to the shifter actually separating and becoming unusable! So I have decided to go with the B&M. I ordered it yesturday, so I cannot wait to get it installed. The B&M utilizes a completely new all 303 stainless steel shaft so there is no rubber bushing to wear out.

i have the URD short shift kit in my truck, and it uses the stock shifter with a couple extra parts to extend where the ball sits.

it works great, i love it

HuskerTRD, please let us know how you like the B&M. Some high res pictures would be much appreciated.

I received a notice that it shipped today. So I hope to get it installed this weekend. That should give me plenty of time to figure out how to post pictures on the forum
