Stearing turns left but nothing when it comes back

    Me and my gf have a 06 Tacoma whe. She turns left it's ok but when it comes back to straight there's no power stearing but it turns right and comes right back ? Any ideas I'm a jeep guy not sure what's going g on pump? Stearing rack?

    On most rack and pinion systems, there's typically a rotary valve on the rack that ports fluid to the correct side of the piston in the rack. If certain parts of the valve is leaking or clogged, this could happen. Probably looking at a rack replacement then.

    Power steering fluid level OK?

    Another possibility is no suspension caster in one corner. Did you buy the truck used? When was the last time an alignment was done? Is there a lift installed?

    No lift it has 126k on it it's been awhile since it had a alinment there nothing lose I just did the oil change and checked the front end good so other than it doing that idk the fluid is good too

    Rack bushings OK? You can check by turning the steering wheel back and forth while the truck is parked with engine running. See if the rack body shifts (it shouldn't).

    If that's OK, then a replacement rack is probably needed. Reman'd units are available on Rock Auto for $270 plus $150 core charge.
