The fluid needs to be at operating temperature (180?) before the level can be checked.
A dealer may opt to pre-heat the fluid to save time.

The "sealed" trans behind the 4.0 does not have a dipstick. It has a drain plug, fill plug, and a level check plug.
With the temperature correct, the fluid should be at the level of the "check" plug.
