i been getting a P0171 for about two months on and off... i've done all the small cheaper tasks and am pretty much down to the sensors. (yes i've cleaned the MAF) just went to ron carter toyota for dummy quotes and part numbers on front and rear oxygen sensors. apparently my taco was either made in Oklahoma or Texas... but with California specs?!? parts guy said i needed the more expensive front sensor for CA emissions. he said the regular one may not fit/work properly with my computer... any comments?
part numbers i have are for 99 prerunner v6 a/t:
rockauto has a matching denso front for $104 and doesnt have a matching denso for rear, but does have a matching standard motor products for $59
what do yall think of all this? i dont wanna spend double for the front, but now I'm worried about negative effects on my taco if i dont...
EDIT: called gullo toyota in conroe and gave them my VIN. guy said I do not need the CA o2 sensor! so i went ahead and purchased them both made by standard motor products (they didnt have denso in the numbers i was given ) from rockauto for $106 shipped
hope this fixes my P0171, fingers crossed
