would bigger tires cause a check engine light??

I just put 33's on my truck and went up to play in the snow lastnight
And my check engine light poped on any ideas ive had catalyst problems in the
Past with my exhaust but i was wondering if the tires would do anything like that

 

Can't think of why bigger tires would trigger a code.
Get the code read by a buddy with a reader, or go to Autozone.

 

I see some really strange things set CEL codes, but to be honest, never seen one set by bigger tires.

 

Tires will not cause a CEL. Get it read and track down the problem. It could be related to your previous catalyst issues or it could be something new.

 

No to the tire question. It is possible your light came back on due to the catalyst code in the past. If you have ABS, you might have thrown a P0500 code from the wheels continuously slipping in the snow. The speed sensor off of the transmission/t-case doesn't match the speed sensors at the wheels for a continuous amount of time, and then it throws the code. I see it on many Toyota products after a big snow when people have extended wheel slippage. If that is the case, just clear the code.
