OEM Skid Plate Install Troubleshoot

Hey guys,
Ive read nearly everything on TW about the OEM skid plate install but am having trouble.
While installing I have come across it being difficult with lining up the front screws with the holes through the original skid plate to the body screw channels. Add to that the aluminum spacers and it seems as if the screws are too shallow to contain the skid plate, spacer, original skid plate and body screw channel.
Maybe im being a puss but after a beer and some time I still cant get it to happen.
Any support would be amazing.

it is the oem skid plate, just sprayed with liner. no worries. got it figured out.

 

how did you end up getting this to work running into same problem.
