How often should the timing belt be changed? i bought a 05 tacoma trd sport sr5 4x4 few weeks ago it has 65k on it but it is a 2005 and not sure it is the stock timing belt still or if it has ever been changed, not many km\s but it is a 05 how often should these be changed? and anyone know how much it usually costs?

The 4.0 V6 has dual timing chains, no timing belt so until it starts making noise, you should be good.

so there isnt any maintenance on the dual timing chains then like at a certain amount of km's or age replace them both? just when they start to get noisy get them looked at and probably replaced with new ones?

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
With clean oil changes there is nothing to do there until 200 000 miles. Then you can check guides for wear if you want . Bottom line, no maintenance required.

3 timing chains run the 1GR. One big one, and each head has a small one connecting the camshafts. No maintenance interval.
