Yesterday I went out wheeling with my buddies and i got stuck. after my truck was recovered the wires going to my left tail light were cut and the transmission didn't want to shift out of park. I have the 4cyl automatic. only thing other than it not wanting to come out is the lights for the gear selection on my gauges aren't lighting up. please help

I bet when the wires were cut to your tail lights it blowed the fuse for the brake lights. The shifter won't move unless your foot it on the brake pedal. Fix wires replace fuses and try it.

Recheck the fuse? Are both tail lights working and functioning?

After going through every single fuse I found the one labeled as IG1 was blown, i replaced it and now the problem is fixed.
