Brakes leaking fluid from caliper

Any idea where it could be leaking from? Started leaking after I replaced the pads and rotors. No brake lines were taken apart, lines were no bled.

This is on an 03 4 runner. But that shouldn't matter...

 

Can't you just remove the wheel, and peek back there?
We can't do that for you. Should be obvious.
If not the caliper, then maybe a leaking brake line. What else could it be?

 

Looks like you may have bad piston seals. When you pushed back the pistons to fit the new pads one or more of the seals may have become damaged. Only way to know for sure is to take it back apart.

 

Just went ahead and replaced the caliper

 

A rebuild kit is like $30 and then another $1 for the seal between the two pieces, only takes 30 mins to rebuild them. Much cheaper then replacing the whole thing.

 

$80 for the rebuilt one from vato zone

 

Sometimes it is not a bad idea to pay the little extra for everything being new, you not having to do the work, and a warranty to boot! Good job! Though I would always suggest that ANY brake work be done in pairs. You don't change out left side pads, and leave right side pads for later. Same with wheel cylinders and calipers. I always say replace them in pairs.

 

And/or service them yourself in prs if you choose the DIY fiscally rewarding route.
