I am trying to help my buddy with his 02 TRD and apparently his turn signals stopped working today. The hazards work but really intermittently and only when the button is held down completely. Sounds to me like this is going to be rather involved wire-chasing nightmare but I just thought that is anyone has experienced this before that it would be beneficial to get some feedback. BTW all fuses are good and bulbs are copacetic. Thanks.

Actually, it probably won't be that difficult. The turn signal signal goes from the turn switch to the hazard switch, and from there to the lights. From the way you are describing the failures, I would think the hazard switch is bad.

Thank You! I relayed the information and I think he has got it now. Super helpful and time saving. I think he is going to join TW now. Haha

My bumper turn signal lamps work as expected, but my turn signal lamps next to the headlights do not work (parking lamps or flashing). I held the bulbs up to a light and verified that they are good. I traced down all of the fuses as well and they are fine. I'm not sure how to diagnose further because my digital multi-meter is too slow to read the high voltage when the blinker is activated.

I'll let you know more when I figure it out.

For your problem it sounds like a loose connection or frayed wire. Have there been aftermarket wiring added on for accessories that just snap onto current wiring? If this is the case, one of those may be drawing too much current and causing the relay to freak out.

Turns out my bulbs had a bad connection in the socket because after I took them out and plugged them back in a few times they worked.
