You gotta be patient. Push it up and hold briefly..... and let it go. If you do it too fast, it won't work.

You got an automatic; Drive with your left foot on the brake ?
Got the emerg brake completely off ?

The cruise wont work at all except for lighting up on the dash. Truck is auto e-brake is fully disengaged and foot is not on the brake:confused: Toyota service center wants to charge me 82$ just to diagnose it any other suggestions?

No offense ment, but it is unbelievable the number of folkes you see driving on the interstate with their brake lights on.

Anyway, the easiest things to check are the switch on the brake lever (I dont know for sure but there must be one) and there probabley is one on the emerg brake; if either one is not adjusted properly the system wont pick up.

It could also be the swithc ass'bly in the steering wheel - you still on warrenty ??

82$ sounds about right; most shops have a 1 hour min and that looks like the typical shop rate; You got to remember the Tech doesnt get anywhere near that.
