Ever since i got my taco, I knew the brakes werent the best on it, but it feels like I dont really have power brakes. No matter how hard I stomp on the brake pedal, I cannot get it to stop quickly like any other car would. Also everytime I push in the brake pedal, I here like a "hiss" inside the cab. Like air is escaping from somwhere. Can someone help me out?

Brake vacuum booster is exactly what you are describing. More than likely the diaphram inside has ruptured.

RockAuto has a range of remanufactured replacements for about $200 including the core charge. You can get some money back if you send in the old one.

Bama knows his stuff, and the booster was my first thought as well.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
You can buy them re-manufactured around $130 wit a $75 core charge. Centric has a 2 year warranty.

A hose is cheap and easy, so it is at least worth a shot.
