So I'm in the process of putting my suspension lift on my 02 and am having problems with the rear brake line. Im replacing it with the extended brake line, however I cant get the brake line off of the steel line where it connects with the flare nut. The old flare nut is rounded off and cant break it.

Im looking to just get a whole new steel brake line with a good flare nut so that I can attach the new extended line.

Does anyone have any info on how I might remove/replace the steel line? Ive looked online and searched the forum a couple times. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need a flaring tool and a nut, needs to be the right size and right flare.

I thought about that, however I still need the either get the brake line off of the steel line or remove the steel line completely so I can match it to a new one that will be the correct size. Should I just try to cut the steel line and flare it with a new flare nut? or if I replace the steel line, what Im asking is how to get the steel line off.

I was saying you could cut the line with the proper tool needed for the appropriate flaring tool, then re-flare with a new union nut and then add your extended brake lines. As long as you're able to get the other side of the soft line off, just cut off the last bit of steel line and toss the whole thing.

    Perhaps this could help.

Thanks. I think I'll try that. I appreciate your help.
