    anyone have a first gen taco 02-04 that they added gas shocks to the hood to get rid of the hood support rod?

    OP, I'm in the market for a set too! :)

    Those that have already installed the redline, have you had any issues with bending of the hood hinges or any dampening issues?

    Over at trdparts4u they advertise their -Warrior Products HL71306 HoodLift By Warrior Products Hoodlift- as being "better then the rest", is this just BS marketing to sell more of their product?

    Here's how they advertise their hood lift product:

    "Others use different mounting points requiring excessively high pressure springs that can bend your hood hinges. Avoid other vendor’s claims that they have an “exclusive dampened gas spring”: all gas springs have oil in them that dampens the end of the stroke while lubricating the shaft seal. Hoodlift gas springs are specially made to our specifications and have that smooth, dampened opening you want when you open your hood or tail gate."

    Redline is top notch...I've had mine for as many years as they've been avail for the Tacoma and I've had ZERO issues...easy install and still work to this day

    i need the specs of that redline kit if you have it man. everything for full/compressed/stroke lengths and force needed to close in pounds. rod diameter and the ball joint fitting size. lol i know its alot but im sure it came in the package they sent you. i work in a shop figured i could just grab to shocks and rivot in the bases and call it free :) thanks!!

    1.)can you check the overall length?
    2.)any idea how much the hood weighs,about 30ish lbs??
    ill figure out the exact mounting points
