Anybody tried headers for a 2.7? Will it increase highway gas mileage while still running through a cat and decent muffler? I'm checking out all possibilities for some mpg here.

I took a good look at the engine yesterday and found that the 2.7 already has a steel-tube header with a 2-into-1 collector. Anybody know if that is stock? I've never seen a production exhaust header that wasn't cast iron. Previous owner says he didn't change anything, so if it is after-market it was done fairly early in the pickup's life.
