Unhappy 2009 Electrical junction block problem

I have a 2009 Tacoma, when I apply the brakes the turn signals for the drivers side come on. I couldnt find a loose ground connection so I put my truck in the Toyota shop. They discovered a ground wire with low resistance at the junction box on the drivers side. Can anyone tell me if this is a common problem, anyone ever heard of this happening? They corrected the ground wire problem but told me they suggest replacing the junction box at a cost of over 900.00, any suggestions would be appreciated.

If everything works and the junction box is not beat all to pieces why replace it?

They said that because it was basically shorting and overheating , they recommended replacing because they didnt know what kind of damage had been done or how long their fix would last.

Can anyone tell me if they are talking about the fuse/junction block accessible at the drivers side panel?

I think you need them to show you exactly what they are talking about. First you want a low resistance in a ground wire, the lower the better 0 resistance is best. Second what is shorting to what. Third I'd get a second opinion once you know what they are wanting to do.
