30K Mile Service Question

Hey guys, I'm not on here very often due to a busy life style. However when i do visit the site i always find very useful information and endup spending days on here just to read it all. For that I thank you all.

I was wondering though if it would be possible for some of the more experienced members to do a write up for the 30K mile service. Mine is comming up and i know i can do it my self with some instructions. I've been letting my pops do the 5000 mile oil changes, but to be honest with you i don't think he does much else besides the oil change, which concerns me. I know i can take it to the dealer but i have a strong feeling that it will run me a good $500, and thats something that would be hard to cough up with todays economy. Can anyone help?? Or maybe direct me to a site where this might be done already? Any input will helpfull. Thank you all in advance.

- Replace Spark Plugs - watch for a thread by chris4x4 who I have heard will be doing a How To on changing the plugs

Wow thank you a whole lot that helps a bunch. I do have a question though the propeller bolts which ones do i need to re-torque and would you happen to know what the required torque is?
also would anyone happen to know how to replace the transfer case oil, and what does toyota mean by lubricating the propellar shaft?

 

Hey LUKE well i currently work at a toyota dealership in my city and i do 30k all the time on vehicles. just to let u kno its a oil change, rotate and balance, efi service which cleans out the throttle body and injectors, replace air filter, check all fluids and depending on the vehicle we change the trans. and diff fluids thats basically it.... well i just wanted you to kno k bud good luck

Thank you Jrez that sounds pretty simple. When it somes to the trans fluid i thought that with an automatic tranny u don't have to replace the oil till it hits 100k. does that sound right?
