I would be very afraid of that thing getting ripped off when I drove over a curb, or a piece of hyway debris taking it out.
I changed my oil for the first time last night and realized that craftsman gave me two 13mm sockets instead of a 13 and 14mm with my set. I was able to get it off with a 9/16 I think, it was a close fit. |

I installed my Fumoto valve back in March and had to wait 4500 miles to actually use it. Today, I finally got to use it!
And all I can say is..... No tools needed. No mess. Very convenient and easy to use. Sooo worth the money!

It is funny, I will be doing mine today and also it will be the first time for the Fumoto valve to be opened.
I pour AMSOIL and did close to 10,000 oil still clean, but cold temperatures are coming.

Same as you mvega1969. I just got a hose from Advanced auto and routed it to a milk jug. Worked great... took a long time, but worked great! Very clean!

It's weird how a synthetic oil can stay 'clean' for that long. I've been running Mobile 1 in all my vehicles for years and it's always dark as night when I change it. I'm glad its dark.

Well I have seen chocolate tone in some other vehicles with not synthetic oil, our Sienna's oil is same age (7 months -march until today-) but a lot less miles (around 5,000+) and that one is half tone of mine and still see it good until december, AMSOIL is great but I had not enough $$$ now to get it and I went to get the Mobil 1 synthetic extended performace deal at Advance Auto Parts (hard to beat!), this time I will try to keep oil in the Tacoma at least 5,000.

I'd think it's better to have chocolate colored oil when you change your oil because it's removing dirt/debris/sludge instead of leaving it in your engine.

Quoted{ Just a recommendation, if you have an air bed inflator handy you can use it as a flush device by placing it at the top where you pour the oil and have everything "closed", oil dip stick in place, oil filter in place and the Fumoto valve open, then pump air into the motor and cover the gap of the inflator with a clean cloth, that will help in the reduction of any oil left after normal gravity or you can expedite your oil change.
Why not just "blow your air" down the dipstick tube and eliminate all that fancy footwork? You'll never get it all out of the valve train and cylinders.....Air straight to the oil pan will.......not do much either i guess.....

It IS better to have your oil look like "chocolate". If it comes out looking like new after 5000 miles, the oil isnt keeping suspended the contaminates.
