Wow, so glad that I didnt give someone my money to do that one! One of the easier plug changes I have ever done. Pulled out denso's, so at least the previous owner had them changed once in 60K.
    Biggest gap...(.50)

One had a little bit of reddish brown on porcelain under electrode.

One had yellowish stain that was on the top porcelain right on the Denso print. Like a nicotine stain:)

All the other plugs looked perfect, any thoughts on what the colors mean on the other two plugs...they looked perfect except for these marks.

:woot:Thanks Chris 4x4 for the advice and especially for the Pics!!!!!

just did this last night, it was really easy and took me about half an hour. I do have a cai so my air intake was already out of the way.

The dealership told me it would be about $100 for them to do it so I thought i would give it a go. I paid $25 for the spark plugs and bought my self a $1 package of anti seize as well as a $2 spark plug gapper. I also had to buy a spark plug socket for $10 so in the end I paid $38 compared to $100. Not to bad and now next time I do it I will only have to pay roughly $25.

Also made my truck run much nicer, they had 102,000 kms on them so about 60,000 miles. Needless to say they didnt look to healthy they were all brown and burnt and the gap was about twice the size that it was supposed to be.

Glad nad bumped this. I didn't have anything to do today so I changed my plugs. 35k miles and I don't care for the look of my plugs. They aren't real wet but they have a damp look to them. When I pass my finger on them there is an oily deposit but minimal.

Oh yeah I'm good no worries. Just used to having them look dryer. These were just darker than I am accustomed to. Even my chevelle that I ran rich for WOT runs had better looking plugs.

I've not read anything about checking the engine timing. Do we need to do this on the v-6 engines?

Chris 4 by 4 ,Thank you so much for the easy to follow instructions and photos. I saved over $300,and was pleased with the final results. I would like to add a helpful hint .I used an old spark plug wire off a PT Cruiser for retrieving the old plugs and hand starting new ones .I had the needle nosed pliers on hand but didn't have to use them .I would think other Hemi head spark plug wires would work, but I had the PT cruiser spark plug wire in my tool box.

Thanks for the great write-up. Did my plugs this weekend with no problems following the directions. I did NOT remove the VSV connector as it really wasn't in my way but other than that I followed to the letter. Two questions, any idea on the torque setting for the 10mm bolts on the coils? I was afraid to over- tighten those but not sure if I have them tight enough. I was expecting to hear/feel the plug 'snap' into the coil like you would when pushing a normal cable boot onto a plug (metal touching metal). I did not feel this on any of them. So I assume this is normal, or I got all six messed up ;-)

Next I'm on to my diff fluids
