greetings all, I purchased a used 07 Tacoma 4 cyl 3 yrs ago. In the last couple o0f weeks, my alternator (clutch-driven) has died (or so it seems). I purchased an rebuilt one from Auto Zone, and it is still not working. Does anyone know if one MUST purchase them from Toyota? In other words are Toyota alternators spefiic to Toyotas.
It's as if it doesn't accept it & won't accept any charge.
I checked all my fuses to see if the "charging system" was compromised in anyway, and can't find any blown fuses.
    Thanks for any advice. Jim

Rear ad a leaf spring from advance auto parts.
My 2004 alternator went out at 180,000.
I got mine from advance auto.
I've put 20,000 on it since replacement.
