I apologize if this subject has been addressed previously, I could not locate the information that related directly to my issue. I own a 1996 4x4 base model Tacoma. Recently half of the dash lights have gone out. I initially thought of instrument panel bulbs but after checking as many sights as possible have potentially ruled that out due to the number of bulbs involved. This leaves a more logical explanation of a fuse. Where and how would I look/find the problem? If there are other possibilities let me know. Thanks

Thank you Bowhunter for responding. I have not found the issue due to not being available to do so. I am military and have been away from my vehicle. I look forward to being able to attempt corrections.

I had a similar issue when some of my bulbs went out. Replaced them with LEDs, no more problems! :proposetoast:

Are your instrument panel bulbs original? If so, I would wager they're just blown.

This is the AC blower.. What does it have to do with instrument panel lighting?

Worth a try...it's a resistor... Don't know if it's in the same circuit at the dash...
I never said it was the fix... I said try it.

Were your bulbs out on the speedometer only?

Hey tree farmer, I have an 01 TRD and had the dash lights go out it seemed for no reason. It wound up, believe it or not, in the rear break lights! It seems the rear light and the dash lights are on the same circuit. I think Toyota must have done this on purpose, to make the driver aware of a problem. Anyway, hope this helps.

I had two bulbs out behind my instrument panel. Also had lights out in my hazard light switch, E-Locker switch, and transmission mode select switch.
