I have a 2001 prerunner that I've kept in excellent condition but recently got into an offroading accident and need to replace front right inner tie rod.

I'm going to go ahead and replace both but it looks like the bolt between the inner and out tie rod has seized and consequently I have to replace both the inner and the outer now (since they cannot be separated).

Anyone have any similar experiences or tips when it comes to replacing the tie rods?

    Yes Sir.

Let me dig up my post on it...

EDIT: Look at post #15 in this thread:

GET THIS TOOL! Its $17 at Advance Auto and you will thank Heaven for it, because it will make the removal of your inner tie rod an ABSOLUTE breeze. Trust me on this, the Toyota Inner Tie rod is a crazy size that none of the common ITR tools have (I think its 42mm), the Cal Van tool just barely makes it on, but clamps down perfectly and spins the tie rod like butter.
