Airbag light blinking

I've seen several post of airbag light, but here is my question. I have a 99 Prerunner with an airbag light blinking but did not start until I went over a rough RR crossing and hit my brake and lo and behold, it started blinking. I've talked to my mechanic and he is going to check it next week for the error codes, but was this a freaky thing that happened by hitting a rough crossing and hitting the brake at the same time? Any thoughts? Love this site, get plenty of answers if you have the right problem.

 

Follow up; after being checked by mechanic, driver side seat belt tensioner is the problem. Is part available for a '99?

 

I received the same word for my mechanic as well. (2.5 hours of labor to trace it)

Here is the part # 73220-04090-E0 Driver side - Color Oak

Page 25 on the parts list.

I'll let you know if the light goes off when I replace it this weekend.
