Let's say that someone - in a moment of lost concentration, distraction and complete stupidity - started to tighten the cylinder head cover bolt next to one of the coil packs... instead of the coil pack screw. For this scenario, the torque wrench is set for about 84 in-lbs (coil pack bolt torque spec). The torque spec for the head cover bolt is 80 in-lbs.

Would that someone have to worry if they back off the head cover bolt and tightened it up at the correct 80 in-lb value? I only ask, because I'm worried that the gasket around the coil pack (between rest of the block and the head cover) would be squished and cause ultimate destruction of my much-loved 1GR-FE.

    Am I over-reacting?
