Quick question for anybody.. I have a brand new TRD off road and noticed that when pressing on the brake, it makes a hissing sound. My old tacoma did not do this and was wondering if this is normal. These new brakes are completely different than the old 2000 taco's and require much more pressure, but should they be making that noise on a brand new one??

you mean a whoosh sound from under the dash? thats normal, its an air piston that slows the speed and force you can apply the brakes, without it, in pannick situations you would be locking them up very easily.
it gives the pedal a firmer feel.

Yes, its a different sound, like a hiss when applying pressure to the brake. I can actually feel it too. Is that something new they have added? Thanks for the reply..

Thanks so much, that is very reassuring. I will have the radio up most of the time anyway, but :D you know how when you first get it, you want to just listen to the new sounds. Its exciting!! HA! Thanks again...
