I've begun to hear a ticking noise from my engine. At first I thought it could be low oil, so I checked my oil level and sure enough it was a little low. I added another quart of oil, as per my owner's manual, but the ticking has persisted. Here's a video I took of the noise:

I'm taking it to a mechanic this weekend, but I was hoping to gather what the issue is before then. Any ideas?

Typically the tacoma engine ticks. But if yours just started then I would get it checked. Your video sounds more ticky than normal. How low was your oil?

It was just above the minimum mark.

This ticking is well known with Tacoma's. My 2010 ticks all the time I'm at 130k and it still sounds like yours. Sounded the same even with just 500 miles on the truck too.
