So I've been noticing a chirping when my truck is in neutral and the clutch is out. From what I've read it is most likely the throw out bearing.
My clutch is not slipping and the truck shifts fine with no problems.
Looking for guidance as to if I should just have the bearing replaced or if I should just let it be for a while.
My truck is a 2008 trd sport v6 4.0l with 95,000 miles.
I would prefer not to change it as I know it will cost quite a bit and it isn't a project I feel comfortable tackling.
Also from what I've read I will be better off changing the clutch also to save money down the road on labor for them having to remove the tranny again.
My brother has a 2001 4 cylinder and had the clutch replaced because it was slipping a little and he also had the chirping from the throw out bearing and when he got it back it was still making the chirping noise and they told him they did change the throw out bearing so I don't know if it is worth changing it out now.
Any opinions would be most helpful.
