some of this, a little of that
have you tried more than one station? There is one gas station that does that to me while others give me no trouble.

I would head to a dealer before you run out of fuel.

yes ive tried two different gas stations and different pumps at the two gas stations. the car is under warranty but taking it to the dealer is a pain in the ass. also I last "filled" it and it stopped at 37 bucks but my fuel light still satyed on and the needle was still on E. I have a full service shop at my access for free so i was wondering if there was any simple checks to do

Sounds like the float is stuck, but that wouldn't explain the inability to fill the tank.

Why mess with it when it's warrantied? If you screw something up trying to fix it warranty won't cover you. Just take it to the dealer and have them figure it out.

I think the onboard fuel vapor recovery system is malfunctioning. kinda disappointing considering the car is fairly new and my first toyota. *sigh* should've stuck with my Hondas

Trade it in for a ridgeline while it's still low mileage.

Not a fan of the ridgelines. The Tacoma seemed like the best option for a smaller truck. just seems to be kind of absurd that i am having a problem like this when it is so new and low mileage.

I have yet to sell my 07 Honda accord ex-l with a v6 that I could drive around in the mean time

Believe me. The newer Hondas aren't any better.

Tahoma, welcome to the world of mass production! Yes it sucks that you have encountered something that has broken so early, but even your wonderful Hondas have vehicles that break with less than 1000 miles on them as well. It happens. Take it to the dealer, get it fixed, and move on.

Go to dealer, it is a warranty issue...

There should be no reason for you to touch/figure out what is wrong, it could be one of several things, float/sensor, vapor recovery, even a problem with ECU or wiring under the dash, just to name a few of the obvious...

They can probably fix it same day if you drop off early in the AM...

Perhaps the anti-siphoning screen is dislocated or blocked?
