Manual Cranks to Power Windows and Security system...

How easy is it to convert from manual crank to power windows and locks? Is there wiring already there so I could just replace the inner door?

 

LOL.. never tried it in a Taco, but I did this surgery in my '84 firebird.. I hope you have some free time on your hands. I know in my car, I had to saw out a section of the interior door framing to remove the hand cranks because the gear was so large. There was ZERO wiring in place for the hand cranks so you have to: mount the electric motors, run the wiring, cut in locations for the switches, test the stops and the angle of your window raising, and some misc trouble shooting. What year Taco is this we are talkin about? There are a lot of aftermarket power window part makers. (I can't remem what company I bought mine from). In my car the hand cranks were riveted in.. dont know what they are in the Taco.. but you had to drill out the rivets and remove the hand crank assembly, then there was a near-direct replacement electric motor that you remounted using the same holes from the rivets.. then just supply power and run the switches somewhere easy to get to. I put mine in the center console behind my gear shift. I can try to help ya out a bit.. but I admit I am very new to the whole Japanese auto thing.. Ive been a GM guy for the last 15 years...
