Is our old thread ever coming back?

 

Can you do a similar run but show the RPM too? I'm most curious to see if you're getting the tire slip by letting it downshift from a higher gear like 4th while you're rolling. You'd probably get much better results rolling from 1st and then shift it back to D once you have it rolling. That initial downshift into a low gear is a recipe for breaking traction.

 

I'm going to order an extra belt to have on stand-by. Is OEM the best option? Thanks.

 

A flash from the past. Forgot I posted that. Best launches are in 4wd and then it just goes. Maybe I'll do a little recording in a bit.

 

The Goodyear Gatorback is a popular belt on here. Seems to be better than stock, but I can't remember the part number.

Well do you guys know whats this? Thinking its the MAF calibrator but its connected to the sc with a little hose, its on a friends tacoma

 

the MAF calibrator for boosted applications has a small hose on it, so ur prolly right.

 

Ive never seen a maf calibrator with a boost tube ??

From what I've read and heard from people who have done it the short tube headers aren't really worth it. You have to go to the long tube headers to get significant powah.

I've kind of given up on changing up my exhaust. I still might order the URD y-pipe for better clearance but I don't think I'll do the headers.

I needed somebody to revive this thread.

 

I hadn't played for years with a vehicle and now it's a problem. I bought a set of retro headlights that I need to go get so they can sit in my garage. It's great when my wife goes out of town. I get so much stuff done on my truck.

I remember when this was cool

 

I heated the pulley while holding it with a strap wrench. You don't want to burn your hand. Get that thing as hot as possible. You want to move fast, and once you start dont stop. You can also try cooling and/or lubing the shaft.

And get the suggested pulley puller (5ton I think??) . You'll hear a solid "pop" from the initial break, and from then it'll be easy so don't be scared when you're applying a lot of pressure. To be sure though, make sure you aren't warping the stock pulley.
