Ok so I have a 2013 tacoma 4x4 and I was playing around in the snow and on my way home it wouldn't drive. I'm Not sure if it was because it was hot or maybe I royally screwed up. Can anyone help shed some light on this problem?

can you clarify a little on what "Won't drive" means? was it running and quit? won't start? won't move when in D and you press the gas pedal, etc...

When I put it in drive the transmission wouldn't engage and it just sat there. It's working now but when I'm driving at about 40-45 it will rev up like its missing the gear then it will shift.

    I've got this guys.

I've seen this happen quite often actually. Often times when first experiencing 4WD returning to a normal state of 2WD driving makes things appear as if they are standing still. There's no excitement, no adventure... nothing worth living for. It's like the truck just won't drive.

It's gas pedal, steering wheel and pavement, that's it.

When you're in 4WD there's constant excitement, challenges, risk. Nothing can slow you down. You finally see that life is more than a wife, kids and a job. It's 4WD and it's all you need. It's empowering.

The problem here is that occasionally we have to let go, we have to go back to that boring 2WD life. It awaits you though, the mountain will be there, the snow ever falling somewhere and the mud. It will all be there for your glorious return. The truck will once again go. It will drive.

It's tough, I know man. If you want to talk more TacomaWorld can help, just shoot me or any mod a PM. That's the real reason TacomaWorld is here... times like these.

Sounds like the tranny is failing and slipping, is it under warranty?

Was it still in 4wd when this occurred? If so, take it out of 4wd and see if it is still doing it.

Run to autozone and get a code reader, see what it's saying.

This ^^^^ Autozone scans for free . Any chance you got a scan guage , Ultraguage or Android app for scanning codes ?
    Consider a scan guage [IMG][IMG]http://www.amazon.com/ScanGauge-Comp.../dp/B000AAMY86
Here is the best information for the scan guage http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...-pressure.html
Ultraguage is now offering transmission temps http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...sion-temp.html

You could also use the Torque app with an Android phone as a cheap alternative to watch your temps http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/per...d2-reader.html
