Code P0171

I just hooked up an Actron OBDII AutoScanner and had one code show up. The reader pulled up "P0171 - System too lean". I dumped the code, so I could wait to see if the Check Engine Light comes back on. But assuming it is still an issue and does return, does anyone out there know if this is an easy fix? If so would you mind sharing a few details on what to do?

Thanks!

Probably a dirty MAF sensor. Do you have a K&N air filter or some other after market oiled air filter? If so, the oil from the filter may have gunked up the MAF causing the code.

I don't have a K&N, but I did just get a new filter. It's just a regular filter from an oil change garage. Forgive my ignorance, but does MAF stand for manifold aif flow?

MAF=mass air flow sensor. It should be located a few inches from the air box on the intake tube.

Electrical prints are all the way at the bottom of the above link.

The Black/Red off the ignition switch will kill the Igniter.

The White/Red off the EFI realy will kill the ECU power. (Probably should avoid that one)

The Light blue (Teal?) on the Circuit opening relay will kill the fuel pump.

Personally I would kill the fuel pump and the ignition.
