Mobil 1 in all my stuff just because it's easy to find.
Look, as long as it's a brand name that meets the proper standards, it's gonna do fine.

I've used:
Mobile 1 75W-90 in the 96 tacoma diffs, transmission. Amsoil Severe Gear in our corvette rear-end (with LSD). Redline MT-90 in the Jeep transmisison Mobile 1 75w-90 in the Jeep diffs I can't remember the other stuff.... but all of those have been top notch fluids. I'd use Amsoil more often if it were easier to get a hold of.

I just changed mine a few weeks ago for the first time and used Mobil 1 synthetic (75w-90). I got it at Kragen for $7.99/qt. I did have to add the friction modifier to the rear end because I have the LSD diff but I could notice the difference right away. I used to have a little vibration at take off but now it's gone!

I have not voted, but I'm wanting to know what's the most popular.
I more than likely will use Mobil 1 when I need to do any changes. (Due to it's good and it's available) ![]() Yuma Taco,

Amsoil scares me off for two reasons:
1) Hard to find. 2) It's distributed through a multi-level marketing network. That said, it does seem to do as good a job as anything else out there. I'd use it if I could buy it at the major auto-parts chains.

Ive only had to have mine done once and Toyota did it. what do they use, anyone know? I will be doing it myself from now on so id be curious to see what most use. it seems like mobil 1 is pretty popular even when doing oil changes.

Not really but it affords an extra margin of protection if your vehicle meets the "severe service" definition of use.
If your truck is just a daily commuter/grocery getter, dino will do fine when following the normal service schedule. Dino juice gear oil has served me well in my three Toyota trucks that have gone over 200K. Hootbro |

Just did mine this weekend... Went with valvoline dino cuz it was cheapest. Also added the "Trans-X lsd additive. I plan on doing it ever 15k so dino gonna be just fine.

I don't know what I used was the "best" because I only have 100 miles since fluid change but after reading some feedback that some posters having issues with synthetic, I used conventional Valvoline. 75W-90 front diff, transmission, T-case, and 80W-90 in rear diff. So far so good.

Replaced man trans fluid w/ mixture of OEM & 75-90 Valvoline. Had Amsoil MTG in it and in the winter, It would not shift correctly at very cold temps. Go figure..........

I've heard that you shouldn't use the Synthetic if you have a mechanical LSD. You 2009 folks don't have to worry about that.

I will be a Amsoil dealer in a few days, just waiting for some paperwork from them. I will be able to get good prices on all Amsoil products. I will post a thread when it is finalized.
