    Hey,

Just got my 06 taco w/access cab and I was going to hardwire my radar detector. Anyone have any experience with this? I was looking for information on which sockets to use for powering the rd.

    Thanks,
    T

I hardwired mine to the Cig lighter. Like behind it. soldered the wires the the connectors. Might be easier for me though as I did it on my 4runner. Not sure how the tacos come apart around the cig lighters.

Yeah I have no experience soldering so that may not be the best option for me.

I just bought a knockoff "hardwire kit" that had the cig plugin. I was gonna fully hardwire but I couldnt figure out how the Tack came apart so I just have the flatline wired and the plugged in like normal

What is the "connector" - I was going to just hardwire to the fusebox which is under and to the left of the steering wheel?

That will work also. but the connector I was talking about was the one that connects the cig lighter to wires.
