I can't definitely say yes, but unless Toyota really changed something after 06 it should. I find quite a few websites don't update their site often enough. Some still don't have 2009 listed yet. From what I know, the only real change was in 08 to make the tailgates stronger.

Then again, they didn't really fit the 06's that well either. I can't count the number of people complaining that this rubbed, or that bound the cable up.... I never heard if they got the issues with it worked out or not.

Why, exactly? I kinda like the fact it'll never rust out like every other truck! :D

for me, i have had so many box bracket problems that i need new outer box panels. if the box was full metal, the outer and inner quater panels would be molded at the wheel wells eliminating all my problems in one shot. as for rusting, if toyota used better metal or paint it wouldn't rust as much.

When I bought my truck I asked what would happen if I broke the bed.

The salesman told me if I broke the bed it would not be covered by warranty because I would have exceeded the manufacturers specification for the bed.

    Huh!?!?

Still not sure if he was kidding. But I am way out of warranty now anyway.

Box brackets? Guess I'm not picturing what you're talking about.

As for better paint....Well, we know the paint sucks, but that's besides the point. Every other truck I've seen that's more than a couple years old in NY is rusted. Highway or hauling doesn't really matter unless the truck lives on a farm around here and never touches asphalt since they lay so much salt and sand down even on country roads that the bed would rust. My buddy with a 2005 Ford F150 has bed rust. He has a fiberglass cover, but no bed liner so anything hard sliding around the bed scratches the paint. After that minor rust can set in just from the humidity in the air. He'll have to have a spray liner applied to stop that.

Kinda nice to know I'll never need to do that! The frame on the other hand.....

ya if you stick your head under the box you will see some brackets or braces that hold the outer panel from vibrating while driving there is one right behind the rear mud flap. that one vibrated loose and wrecked the panel whole chuck broke off
    DSC01214.jpg
because of this where the panel bolts on right in front of the bumper it is cracking too. i modified the one right in the middle of the wheel well and haven't had anymore problems. the front brackets have broke so many times the deaalership modified it so the was 2 in the front. but that was when i still had body warranty i have the extended warranty and the body is not coverd on extended.

as for rust where i live is very dry air. none of our work truck have had bad rust. 7 years and over 300 k kms on a 99 ford diesel and we beat the piss out of it box had tons of dents and scratches and only had minor surface rust where paint was scratched. i treat my yota way better and have no dents or scratches and no rust. dont get me wrong i love my taco. the guts of this thing is far better then anything on the market. i just think the body needs some more intelligent engineering.

ah, i see what you mean... They have similar braces around the front bumper i think. Those are worthless too. Not really a bed problem, more of a problem with toyota trying to save weight/materials I think. lol One of the reasons I want to replace the front bumper.

I just traded in a 1992 Deluxe X-cab for a 2009 double cab. I love it but want to do some modifications. I've added running boards and bug shield, but I want to add intermittent wipers. I've read the posts on this forum and I think I'll give it a try. It doesn't seem too difficult...I hope. Has anyone else tried it?

Figured this one out foolin around one day. If you have a toolbox just slide the reel end under the box and then the rest is self explanitory by the pictures!
