I did this today on my 2013 DCSB - took me all of 3 minutes. None of the other methods ("step on the brakes 6 times, blah blah blah") worked for me. Now I don't have to worry about the chime coming back after disconnecting the battery.
This was the simplest step by step procedure I found:
The thread below has way better pictures, but I found no reason to remove the seat or the seat belt latch. You also shouldn't need to pop off any covers. Once the seat belt sensor comes out, you can just pull the spring out and put it back in place.
