This is interesting. Several motors assembled in different plants (I assume) all with the dual plugs

HHHmmmmmmm. They replace them with Denso at the dealership. I think this debunks your theory?

Not really, it costs more to have two types of plugs on hand. Remember dealerships buys in bulk, more you buy the greater the discount. So while it may save them money on the assembly line, it may not be the same at the dealership because they won't get the same bulk rate buying two brands.

    Very interesting theory Chris4x4...

But they buy Toyota "brand". It's not the dealership, it's the Toyota parts distributer which gets the parts where?

HAS ANYBODY USED THE "E3" SPARK PLUGS IN THEIR 4.0 V-6 ? WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, chris4x4, THERE IS A LOT OF DYNO TESTING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE ADVANTAGES OF THE "E3" PLUGS. PROBABLY NOT TESTING ON A TACOMA.

I HAVENT MYSELF, BUT i KNOW A GUY WHO TESTED THE E-3 PLUGS, AND THE PULSTAR PLUGS. THE E-3 PLUGS SHOWED NO GAIN, AND WHILE THE PULSESTAR PLUGS DID SHOW AN INITIAL GAIN, THEY TRIGGERED AN CEL, BASED ON AN ENGINE "LEAN OUT" CONDITION.

    And Welcome to TW! :)

Keep in mind, It really doesnt matter how many points a plug has. Electricity will follow the path of least resistance. SO, while all these companies with multi point plugs would like you to belive their plugs are going to give you 40 sparks, that is not the case. Whatever point aoofers the least resistance, is where the spark will jump from.

Gap your plugs propperly, and that will give you best performance.

If this was true then we would be required to replace with the same plugs as the factory used. I don't see a reference to this anywheres in the manual??
