Oil Filter is STUCK
Ok, I've tried the screwdriver through the dang thing, rubber wrenches, the oil filter remover metal wrench, the ratchet in the end of the filter and now I'm left with this mangled piece of filter thats now pretty much welded itself to my car (this is for the mustang). Any ideas? Should I just PB blast the heck out of it or what? I'm without a car and I have WAY too much stuff to do to be begging my girlfriend to take me everywhere.

The penetrating oil should help. What you may have to do is drive it using a screwdriver or punch (sort of the same way some bearing races are loosened off)
I haven't had to do this, but the process was described to me while my filter was stuck, but still intact, as a warning of what the screwdriver through the middle might lead to.

theres an oil filter wrench that looks like a set of pliers. My oil filter was stuck pretty good once and those filter pliers Im talking about really helped. Upon squeezing the arms together it pretty much crushed the filter into a shape that gave it excellent leverage and I was able to get it off quite easy. I tried using the others but they just seem to slip around the can. Maybe this will work for you?

Yeah, I know the direction I'm supposed to be turning it. Where can I get one of those tools? I was at auto zone last night and they didn't have one. Does Walmart or something have it?

BTDT. I had to rip the filter off to get to the nut and beat it off with a cold chisel. Major PIA, particularly when it was a Chevy V8 and while the car was on the ground.

grab the filter as close as possible to the baseplate (without actually gouging the baseplate) where the filter actually has some integrity too it. FYI fram filters are crap when it comes to structural integrity, u can dent em pretty badly to the verge of crushing em taking them off with ur hands. Thus fram+crazy tight fitment+ filter pliers= tons of fun.
Better yet, is it possible to spin off the entire spindle? I cant remember if they are removable on all vehicles and or if they are reverse/left hand threads????

I have had good results with the kind of filter wrench you use with a socket wrench and when you turn to loosen the filter, the clamp type cup that goes on the filter end will tighen (clamp down) on the filter. Mine is a heavy guage steel one so that is not at all flimsy, and the size is perfect for the Toyota filters I use.

I took my old ranger to an oil change place like jiffy lube and they overtightend my oil filter, so when I changed my oil the next time, the filter failed whenever I tried to take it off with a filter wrench. So I had to cut it all the way around the base with a box cutter, and then get an old school oil filter wrench, the kind that you can grip a pipe with, and just keep trying to turn it until it FINALLY broke loose and came off. The threads were fvcked up bc the kid who changed my oil had overtightend it so bad. Thats the last time I dont change my own oil!
Persistence will get it off. Took me close to an hour to get everything cut and taken off. .. It sucked, I know what youre going through! haha

those pliers are the best thing on the planet for taking off stuck oil filters. i had a motor on a stand and i had the same problem. 22re actually that i was building, anyways. i tried everything under the sun like you and it was completely accessible. i tried two hand turning it. i had tons of friends try and the screw driver thing didn't do shit. tried a leather belt and the round oil filter wrenches but nothing would work. i got one of those form school and it crushed the filter more then it already was but it came off with a couple grunts and a heave hoe.
